Have Kids? How to Keep Areas of Your Home Clean

August 12, 2014 by Savannah Coulsen Leave a Comment

Despite contrary belief, you can keep a clean home while raising children. Children are messy, and staying on top of the mess while keeping up with all the other chores can be stressful. A clean home is a healthy home, which is important while raising children of all ages.

Here are a few ways to make keeping a clean home possible.

Do a little each day

Scheduling the more time consuming tasks for certain days, instead of trying to do it all at once, can make keeping a clean home much easier.

For instance, Mondays can be for dusting and disinfecting, Tuesday for vacuuming and mopping, and Wednesday for bed laundering.

Day-to-day tasks like dishes and picking up toys will still be done daily. By having the major task scheduled, you will know that they will get done without having to stress over figuring out how to budget the time.

Teach kids to be neat from an early age

Kids start learning as soon as they are born. If they are taught early on to clean up after themselves, it will make your life so much easier. Mind you, this will take a lot of work and patience, but it will pay off to teach kids that a clean home is a much nicer home.

It will also teach them to be responsible for themselves and their belongings.

Declutter

Kids go through an impressive amount of toys and clothing in such a short period of time. Stuff can really start to build up and throw any organization attempts out the window.

By donating or selling toys that are no longer played with, clothes that do not fit, and other items that have not seen the light of day in years, you can maintain a cleaner, more organized home.

Hire some help

Sometimes, raising kids and managing a home can become overwhelming. Hiring a cleaning service to help clean your home can be a life saver, whether you can afford it once a week or once a month.

A service can be very beneficial because they can take care of the dust, dirt, and grime so that you can focus on organization and other daily tasks. They can be crucial to maintaining a clean home while raising children.

It is possible to keep a clean home with children. It is also possible to do so without having to clean every moment of the day. By doing a little every day, teaching children to be neat, keeping clutter to a minimum, and hiring a service to clean, you can have a clean, healthy home without the stress.
