With all you have to do to get everyone in the house ready in the mornings, you’ll likely want a few hairstyle ideas for your daughter that are both attractive and easy.
Here are a few ideas your daughter can try that will keep her coif looking great all day:
The braided bun
This style is perfect for long hair and gives the hair more texture while keeping the tresses intact. Pull the hair into a ponytail at the top of the head, and use mousse, gel or pomade to keep the edges in place.
Braid the ponytail and wrap the braid around the base of the ponytail. Hold the bun in place with bobby pins and finish with a few spritzes of hairspray. Add decorative clips to your daughter’s hair if she wants to add a little more character to the style.
The curly ponytail
This hairstyle for long and medium-length hair is fun and girly, and will keep your daughter feeling upbeat and pretty throughout the day.
For this style, which can be worn both for school and formal occasions, pull the hair into a ponytail in the middle of the head. Take a piece of hair from the side of the ponytail and wrap it around the ponytail holder before securing the piece with a hairpin.
With a medium or small-barrel curling iron, separate the hair into small sections and curl it in a spiral fashion. Set the style with hairspray. This hairstyle looks great with or without bangs.
The French braid
The French braid looks great on hair of all textures, especially hair that easily gets frizzy throughout the day. Brush or comb the hair to the middle of the head and divide the top section of the hair into three parts.
Overlap the three parts of the hair over one another to form a braid, and continue down, adding hair until an entire braid is formed. Secure the end of the braid with a hair clip or ribbon.
The chignon
This low bun is ideal for preteen and teen girls and can be both casual and classy. The hair should be pulled to the side and secured into a ponytail.
The ponytail is then formed into a loose bun and held together with hairpins. A ribbon or decorative hairpins make the style more visually appealing, and adding a few strands of hair in the front of the hair help to frame the face.
Milkmaid braids
These braids keep hair from getting unruly and is especially flattering on your little girl’s round or oval face; however, older girls may be drawn to the style as well.
Part the hair in the middle or on the side and braid each section in a French braid pattern. When the two braids meet in the back of the head, connect the two sections and twist them into the shape of a bun. Hold the hair together with bobby pins and add a little oil sheen and hairspray to finish the style.
Flat twists
Flat twists pull the hair away from the face while showing off your little girl’s hair texture. The hair should be parted in small sections in the front of the hair. Take each section of the hair and twist it in the direction of the part, holding each twist together with a small ponytail holder or hair clip.
The remainder of the hair can be left out and moisturized with a spray bottle filled with water and leave-in conditioner. This style is ideal for hair that is thick and curly.
These hairstyles are easy to maintain, as they will keep for a day or two by wrapping the hair in a silk or polyester scarf at night. Your little girl may also want to add glitter hairspray to any of these hairstyles to make them a little more interesting.
