3 Ways Companies are Keeping Their Employees Motivated

January 11, 2014 by CMO Contributor 1 Comment

Many components can cause a business to succeed. One of these main components includes having motivated employees. However, keeping employees motivated can be tricky.

Rest assured that by doing just a few things throughout the week or month, you are more likely to keep your employees happy and motivated to do the best that they can do on their job.

#1. Incentives can make a big difference

Providing incentives can work in any situation, including the workplace. A great example would be incentives for sales that employees make, such as hitting a certain number of sales per day. Everyone loves getting free gifts – and if they are imprinted with the employer’s name, this instills a sense of pride in the employee.

Make sure that you let your employees know about the incentives and the requirements that need to be met in order to acquire them. For larger prizes, give bigger things such as gift cards or paid time-off.

#2. Recognition can be a great boost

It’s also important to recognize employees on a regular basis for a job well done. Make sure that you recognize them in front of the rest of the team so that you can also motivate the other team members.

Handing out MVP awards on a monthly basis will also create a competitive ambiance among the employees. By the time that you know it, the employees themselves will be motivating each other.

#3. Weekly meetings are important

Keeping employees motivated can include weekly meetings. These meetings are vital to let the team know where it stands and to share news from the senior management team. You can also make a few motivating remarks that will create an atmosphere of team spirit and camaraderie.

Remember that employees want to know the results of their hard work. Finally, you can give your employees a simple handshake to let them know that they have done a great job.

Seeing the results in the sales numbers

Within a span of time, you will most likely begin to see the results that you want. However, remember to keep constant communication between yourself and the employees. Doing this on a day-to-day basis will keep your employees motivated and your business thriving every day.

You can also ask for ideas from different employees on how to improve sales and customer traffic. The employees will feel grateful that you asked for their opinion. These tips can get you started on motivating your employees.
